石壁の交通史
旧繊維道は壮大ではないが、川水と人足によって絶えず修正される細い線のようなもので、石孔、路基、地方の口述が残り、かつての航海労働を具体的な形に戻す。
今日の川沿いの旅では、ゆっくりとこれらの痕跡を識別し、現代の航路を理解する前の長江の入り口となった。
A transport history cut into rock
The old tracker paths are not grand. They read more like a thin line repeatedly revised by the river and by human feet. Surviving rope holes, roadbed and local testimony give that labour of navigation a concrete shape again.
Travelling the river today, slowing down enough to pick out these traces is the way into the Yangtze that existed before the modern channel.
